One of these would probably be better. Toolbars are a waste of space.

    It is on your list

    4. Additional Options: If you need extra security to do your online business transactions, enter passwords, or verify suspicious sites, then you may want a good second opinion. One option is CallingID, which smoothly places a small toolbar into your browser and cautions you about suspicious sites before you enter important information (supports Firefox, IE, and some email and messenger clients).

Basically put, co.uk lends a great deal of credibility in England to a domain name if you cannot get .com, .net or .org

I could easily register a .us name for instance from anywhere...or .org even if I was not non-profit.

True, but it's not the only one. I prefer WOT myself.

I would certainly never go by the co.uk/com/net etc etc to provide credibility.

If that is the case then it is no wonder so many people get scammed

People should never be took in by a grinning salesman in a suit, yet they do lol

It doesn't matter if they are credible or not...the .com is the same kind of rental space that a flagship Oxford Street store would lend, more so than a back street dump :p

Researching multiple sites and stores is always in your best interest anything

The whole problem is that domain registration is completely deregulated with no rules as to what you can register, how you can register and where :/

I don't know why the beeb even bother to do these half assed "investigations"...anyone can go to a foreign host and "buy" a package with domain which actually belongs to the host...and will have their details in the Whois ...rendering that useless...or they can use any of dozens of other ways to hide it or lie in there. I remember a spoof site registered by David Blunkett when he was a cabinet minister that had his home address etc in the Whois ...but wasn't exactly saying what he would to say the least.

They would do better at the beeb to simpy explain that it's buyer beware online..so if you want to deal with a UK company, get a real landline and ring them before paying serious money to them...the domain is something confusing to Joe Public already, making them feel safer isn't a great idea based on scant info.
