WTC is egenrally paid to anyone who is:
1)Over 16 , working over 16hrs and has chidlren
or
2)Over 25 and working 30hrs + per week.
WTC may be more or less than the JSA , it depends on your circumstances- how many childrem ,disabilities etcI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
I've heard that if you are self-employed the WTC assessment will assume you earn at least the National Minimum Wage - so if you're trying to get a new business off the ground & put in 40hrs+ p/w they will take into account earnings of £200 odd - even if you only cleared £6.73!
Please check before you 'jump' into your new job! :j:D:beer::eek::A:p:rotfl::cool::):(:T0 -
Iam self employed and claim WTC, it goes on your taxable profits that you declare on the self assesment form each year - if you make a loss your effective income is £0.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals.
