I have just received an email from Madasafish with their new tariff from the 1st of January. Their prices are going up significantly  The main changes I have noticed are:
Monthly line rental from £9.75 to £11.25
Daytime landlines from 3p/minute to 5.25p/minute
New call set up fee of 9.3p per call
Obviously I'm not going to stay with them now as it will cost me a lot more every month.
Who should I switch to? I would like free evening and weekend calls included still.

Identical prices to BT except the connection charge will be 0.05p more than BT's will be when VAT goes back up.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

What are you trying to save money on just line rental or calls as well.
https://www.euphony.com/euCall/SignUp.aspx offer line rental and inclusive 01/02/03 E&W Calls for up to 60 minutes for £10.25 a month.(0845/0870 are not inclusive).Like the majority of suppliers these days their is a 12 month contract.
It might be possible to use www.18185.co.uk with Euphony for cheaper daytime 01/02/03 calls, but they could block 18185 access as only BT have to allow it.
PS . I dont know if you are aware that MAAF is part of the BT Group.0 -
Thanks I will check out Euphony. Are they ok for customer service?
I'm mainly looking for cheap line rental with inclusive evening and weekend calls. My chargeable calls have rarely been more than £2 per month (at the old rates) so I'm not that bothered about 18185.
I had heard that Madasafish are now part of BT and that obviously explains the price increases. At least they still have uk call centres (for now) - unlike Bombay Telecom:rolleyes:0 -
In July I signed up for 12 months with them for line rental and broadband at £15 a month. I just sent them a message to check that my monthly fee would stay at £15 but they have come back and said it will be increasing!
I have gone back to them saying that if they were going to break the agreement presumably I was free to move to another provider - I'm waiting on a reply.....0 -
I am with MAAF talk as well, as I never use the phone and £9.75 a month was a good deal. Also I cant commit to a 12 month contract and they have a 1 month contract.
I think I will stay as can't find anything cheaper for just line rental. They do now include calls to their support line in their free allowance.
I looked at going back to BT but they want a 12 month contract!0
