Short answer, no.
If you need to employ someone then you need to include that in the business plan and in the finances.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I want to start up a multinational investment bank. Is there any government help to pay the wages of the 200,000 staff I will need. Also a few billion to start me off on buying into investments?
Thanks.0 -

It was only a question. Am thinking of a new one:beer:0 -
Firstly remember the min wage rate varies depending on age so perhaps look for a younger member of staff.
Secondly there are apprenticeship schemes where employers pay a low wage, but this is only applicable to certain fields (and not really odd jobbing).
There's also back to work trials arranged by the job centre and internships. I think the job centre may even pay a bonus for taking on the long term unemployed (I may be wrong on that one). Even my local enterprise agency was at one time giving a grant for taking on new staff.
OP I think you have a valid question. Whilst I don't know the answers speak to Business Link, job centre and local enterprise agency. It might not come to anything but has to be worth it for a few phonecalls.0 -

No but when the s*** hits the fan the government will be more than ready to make a financial contribution out of tax payers money..
Go for it! :T
OP as said, there are schemes out there. One is to recruit through the job centre.
They are offering employers and potential employees one weeks trial unpaid where the potential employee will still receive JS allowance . If it doesn't work out the potential employee does not have to start a new claim.
There is also a scheme for employing someone who has been unemployed for over 6 months.
Your company would receive £1000 . Not sure of all the details but I know it is avaliable.
Good luck

As others have said you can get people from the job centre on a work trial basis, for a while, upto 4 weeks, any more and you are pushing your luck. In this trial period you dont pay the employee anything as they continue getting their benefits. After this period you can get £1,000 for employing someone who has been unemployed for 6 months. To get this they would have to be employed for at least 26 weeks, and work more than 20 hrs/week. If they need training, then the job centre should be able to arrange and psy for that as well. If you are in Wales then you can get upto £2k for employing someone on a full time basis, for at least 6 months who has been made redundant. That shoud be of some help to you.0 -
One perhaps obvious point is to make sure your OH factors in the full cost of employing someone. It's not just their gross wage, but the employer's NI contributions, plus giving paid holidays. Then he either needs to get on top of PAYE himself (which for one person isn't onerous, but does take some time) which means less time for the core business, or paying someone to do it for him.
the first employee is a steep learning curve - contracts, terms and conditions, legislation etc ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
