Presents for primary school children?

  • can echo the thoughts about the personal approach, when dd1 left primary school her most treasured presents were the handwritten cards from teachers etc. but think chocmonsters idea is fab.either books or ask if there is any other items that could be given like balls/skipping ropes or maybe seeds or plants for school garden then give each child a card with a personal message in it

I work in an infant school with 5/6 year olds and have, in the past, bought each child a present. Last year I bought the class a book at Christmas instead .... they were overjoyed, had huge smiles on their faces .... and I heard all 30 children say "thank you"!!

75p per child is too much to expect from a student, go along to a pound shop and look at the glittery type pencils, about a dozen for a pound. A card and a pencil is plenty.

DS1 got a punch balloon from a teacher last year, and he thought it was the best thing ever! :)

    I would imagine they're not expensive. :)
  • how about packaging up some mini marshmallows in little cellophane parcels and labelling snowman poops:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: or you could call them freeze dried snowballs!!

i have a 5 year old, and she was given by her teacher a very small key ring note book, and she loves it, in fact all the kids seem to love key rings as they hang them off their book bags.

    I am a teacher.
In past I have given the whole class a game for wet play times to put in their wet play cupboard.

Or if I buy them all a present I tend to go for a tennis ball each. I write their names onto them with a permanent marker pen. They always seem to go down well.

how about giving them each a packet of magic reindeer food.... very cheap and very simple.

Print off the little poem from this link
    http://christmas.organizedhome.com/printable/gift-tags/magic-reindeer-food

Mix up either some glitter or coloured sugar (mix food colouring with sugar and leave to dry, I sometimes do different coloured batches) with oats. Put them in little cello bags like these

You would probably get some cheaper and smaller than that but it gives you an idea.

This could end up costing you pence per kid and help add to the magic of christmas!

I make some every year for my kids and they love going outside and sprinkling the magic powder all over the lawn for the reindeers!
