How much does 400 watts cost an hour?

Hi i have a christmas tree and the it says on a tag next to the plug the whole chain will not exceed 400 watts just wondering how much it cost an hour i'm with sothern electric if that helps

It uses 0.4kW per hour, so based on the UK average of 15p per kWh then 0.4 x 15p = 6p per hour. A little more if you pay more than 15p per unit of electricity, a little less if you pay less per unit. (20p per unit=8p, 10p per unit=4p)0

400 watts seems to be a bit on the high side for Christmas tree lights. I can light my whole living room with much less than that.I can afford anything that I want.

Surprising how much electricity tree lights/rope lights actually use. Lots and lots and lots of little 1W bubs, soon adds up....0

Those big lights that sit on walls outside can use lots of energy. I have a couple only because theyw ere selling them cheap and they are well over 100watts each. I like to buy led bulbs now so I put those high energy lighst on timers for a coupel of hours a day0
