Hanging wall art on plasterboard walls.

As the title suggests I have a piece of metal wall art which I want to hang on my walls.
In the past I've used the screw in plasterboard fittings which is fine when they are hidden by a mirror, picture frame etc but they would be visible with this piece of wall art. Any alternatives which will look less unsightly?
Thanks in advance.

If the plasterboard is fixed to a wooden frame then find the wood and fix it into that

Depending on how heavy your art is you could use 3m command strips http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=10136612&ecamp=trf-005&CAWELAID=266903537
I think each pair can take up to 1kg each.
I've used them with normal paintings on plaster board with good success. Very strong and removes without a trace, doesn't even damage the paint.0 -
You can get raw-plugs (sp?) that are designed to be used in plasterboard. I got some from Wilkinsons."It's official, MSE's harbouring total fruitcakes">^..^<0

I have to say I would trust them with anything expensive. Note there is a nice note about 3M (manufacturers) not being liable for anything if they fail. Doesn't inspire confidence but then I like things securely fixed with somthing physical :0 -

There's a good array of plasterboard fittings outlined at on diydoctor.org.uk
Hollow wall anchors or cavity toggle fixings may be a little more discrete
