Does anyone know where I can buy a rucksack with laptop compartment and wheels/handle for easy lugging around towns/airports? Something not too expensive would be a bonus ;)

so how come you can buy a decent normal laptop bag for a tenner, but if you want a set of plastic wheels on the bottom it's costs £60 + ??????!!!??

you can buy a hard suitcase on wheels from tesco for 20 odd quid, those laptop trolleys are just a plain rip-off

I always believe that it's better to pay a little more for something that's going to last you than go for the cheapest option now and find that in six months time you need to replace it. I used to be very bad like that, and as a result have gone through 4 laptop bags in the last year. I bought the top of the range (and still is) Samsonite DLX 750 Series last August, and I only need to replace it now a year later as I have a new 17" laptop and an accompanyment of accessories, plus the extra discs and books I need moving into 3rd year at Uni.

Anyway, in that spirit, take a look at the Web, Tech and Travel series of Victorinox bags that are made for laptops. There are also Samsonite bags with wheels, they're actually combination trolleys and bags, but they're not specifically made for laptops.

I'll keep an eye out though for more. Pricerunner > Luggage > backpacks is also a good place to look. Just filter it by backpacks and search for laptop, then order by price. This is one instance where High to Low is probably better, as you'll get the multi-featured bags first then.

Also check out eBags and bags123 as possible stores.

    Cheers.

    Hussein.

l've managed to find exactly what I was looking for but guess what: I can't find a UK supplier. It's the Targus 15.4" Rolling Notebook Backpack:

I've emailed a couple of US suppliers to see what they'll charge for UK shipping. Amazon have quoted $101 shipping - more than the cost of the bag!

Have you tried contacting Targus directly? they may be able to better help, they are the manufactueres after all.

Also, take a look at some of the TechAir rucksacks. I personally am thinking of upgrading from the Samsonite DLX 750 (model 128049) to the Techair Series 5 5703.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers and take care.

Yes I got this response from Targus UK:
"Not all Targus Products are globally available. The model number you mentioned, can be bought on the US-website. Not available on our UK website. Please check at: https://www.targus.com/uk

Other resellers in the UK are found through the link at the bottom of the page: "Where to Buy". This lists both internet resellers and the major high street retailers for electrical products. We do know if any of these sells this particular backpack."

    Didn't really help much...

Can you post the exact name and model number of the bag you are looking for. I will set my computers to looking for the best price for you, both in europe and in the states if you like.

    Cheers and take care.
