I've no idea then. The discussion I was following definitely suggested they could block echeques for ebay sales as well, but I never tried it so maybe the advice was wrong.
I'll go and try in my paypal account, but if I have passed on wrong info then I apologise.

hiya soo,
i've had a quick read here, and your cheque thing does need clarifying!
i'd really doubt that paypal would put you out twice for one cheque though, but, it also reads as 'if it bounces after 'clearing', tough luck'
quite worrying actually, i'll bet the FSA would be interested in thatmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Thanks bleugh, I'm probably finding problems where there aren't any but I like to know where I stand with things. Hopefully the situation will never arise, but I like to know exactly what I am accepting or not when I use any services, not just paypal.

I've eventually found out how to block e-check payments but I cannot find any mention of this not including eBay as some people have mentioned.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I didn't kow about the not ebay echeque block, I have had it set onto No Echeques for ages. They are a Royal Pain in the Ars*.
The only two negs (Now removed) have been due to these bloody things. In one case, the buyer had the money clear after 4 days and it took Paypals hamster driven system 2 week more to pay me. By then the buyer thought she'd been conned and negged me. After my wife had scraped me off the office roof, I calmly pointed out her payment hadn't cleared and it was resolved!
Took weeks thoughMy broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!0 -
It was me who said I could not blcok echeques for ebay. In my paypal account you can
"Block Payments from users who:Pay with eCheck for website and Smart Logo payments, or German bank transfer for all website payments except eBay"
I've read this as block for all except ebay - am I reading this wrong or have I selected the wrong thing?Fat and proud lol0 -
as with most people, I did not know they existed until someone sent me one0
