    Can I add this one?

He added an extension at the cost of 400k.

I think it's been on for 3 months so far?
What do you think? Will it get 2million?
there are some really, really beautiful houses round there, with heritage and in varying degrees of repair from virtual hovel to immaculate preservation of the past. I'd love one of those but a 70s tower block? no thanks.

The owner may still lurk on this board? Wellhe e used to.....maybe he's gone now as he read one of Asherons posts :rotfl:

It was built in the back yard of a terraced shop and has a school right behind it. It looks bigger in the pics than it actually is. Canny of the shop owner who managed to sell the back yard and get PP. A lot of stuff up there is now listed and you can see where businesses owners ripped out the old buildings mid terrace and replaced it with state of the art 70's concrete.

    But 2.2 million?

still, you'd not need a monthly oyster, so that would be a saving to offset against it :rotfl::rotfl:

owner apologies if you read.:o I'm sure it suits you, and probably much or the ''audience'' in the location. :)

I don't think he's here any longer....so we can be brutal about it :o:D

It's the price from what he paid that's mystifying me though it is on with Foxtons.

I know this street and this seems ''reasonable'' at £1999 000 and this at 1 million

The concrete house was on Grand Designs as I remember watching it years ago but I couldn't find it on catch up.

Good one fc. In answer to your question; No. Seriously doubt it unless he really lucks out. Bought at £1.2 million just two years ago, and supposedly spent another £400K on an extension. Now would like £2.2 million if you please. It might have some special characteristics which some people really like, but on comparables for the area, £2m is really big money.

Also the days of buildings with huge glass windows for light and to look out into the happy world of flowing credit being popular are coming to an end. Security being more of a concern.

It's a bit nerdy to assiduously collect all the property-pr0n news and magazine articles about your home imo. Maybe a few.. but not making it your life.. unless you think it'll help sell it on for a big premium.

No 23 Bacon Street is on the market for £2.2m with Foxtons

Can't find it on Rightmove, but pretty sure this is it on Foxtons website (link): £2,200,000
Update 29th June 2010:Re Foxtons link for property. Reduced from £2,200,000 to £1,950,000

C'mon Dopester, do you really think that? I can't see prospective buyers walking in to any property, seeing a lovely load of glass and natural light pouring in to a nice, bright room and thinking, "hmmm, we'd better get this all bricked up so our security is tighter".

Equally though, I love the idea of a couple looking round a property with Kirsty and Phil and the following conversation taking place:

Kirsty: "Lovely large window in the lounge for lots of natural light."
    Woman: "Ooh, that is nice."
Man: "I do love a good window. It allows me to look out into a happy world of debt, flowing credit, liar loans and high prices. I like to look out at a happy world of rising prices, where our children, and our children's children cannot afford to buy. A world where the banker is king, and we are his servants eating his debt. mwhahah. mHWhhahWhaaha. MAHWHWHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!"
Kirsty: "Ok-ay. Shall we move on to the kitchen?"

I have been inside the concrete one and it has big windows so you can appreciate the urban landscape outside. It's err very urban. Hardcore Urban actually. I have to say, mon to friday it would be ok but give me Margate for the weekends anytime.:o

I will dare to gossip about it later but I have a presentiation to prep now for tomo.....will take an hour and half I think.

I am currently procrastinating....really badly. Shouting at myself usually works but I am waffling about reading the dodgy flight thread by Asheron....come on come on fc...come on

FC123 ....GO AND DO THE VERY IMPORTANT PRESENTATION NOW.
