Public liability insurance for one day charity collection

Hiya, in a few weeks i'm doing face painting in my town centre to raise money for help for heroes.
For me to be able to do this i've been told that I need to buy public liability insurance. But I only need it for one day and the sites i've looked on all ask for company details, number of employees etc, which isn't relevant.
can anyone suggest where to get this insurance?
thank you

I think you need to look at doing this through an exisiting organisation, eg your local community associaiton, residents, assn, etc.

Or try asking Help for Heroes if their policy covers you.

Perhaps I'm too late for you now but I recently did face painting for Tenovus charity in our city centre during 6 Nations match days.
Our volunteers were told that we needed council licences etc and all sorts to do this and from cost a time limitations it was decided thid wasn't practical to do.
We still went ahead with it..how? Well, we knew someone who knew a local bar owner who agreed for us to work from a table outside their venue. This way it was operating from a private property not on the street even though we were of course grabbing punters off the street for business. The bar staff were also happy to let us trawl for business inside when things were slow outside. I'm not sure if it meant we were covered by their insurance too but it certainly worked on all other counts. Maybe something you could find out about for your situation??
    Good luck with it! :)
