Urgent advice needed on new deal/benefits

I need a bit of advice on what to do......I have been on job seekers allowance, housing benefit and council tax benefit since february and being 20 years old i am slowly going through the new deal scheme...at the moment i am seeing my job advisor once a month too just chat about what plan of action is next and she gives me a small list of things to do....my last interview with the advisor was last tuesday and she had referred me to NHS admin training a couple of months ago so she booked my interview with someone at the nhs admin training for friday as in today.......i was told the interview is a must but its my choice too actually start the training if i was offered it that is...now my problem is i cant get too the interview and jobcentre.....me and my family are not close and many i do not get on with and i have no money whatsoever for a taxi or bus too these places. My first idea was too ring the jobcentre and tell them but when i spoke too a friend they said phoning them would only make my situation worse because they would think i am just trying too get out of the interview and going to the jobcentre so i am really stuck on what too do? Just not turn up? which is bad? and i lose all my money? which isnt an option as i have rent and bills too pay.

If you ring the jobcentre and explain the situation they will either give you a travel warrant to get to your interview, or if you pay the bus fare and then go to your nearest job centre then they will refund the cost of travel to you.
Either way you need to a) speak to someone this morning - you should not have left it so late and b) attend your interview.
Good luck

The JSA is to pay for things like looking for jobs etc. If you are struggling you can apply in advance for travel costs.
You risk being sanctioned if you don't turn up and they have said its mandatory.

Considering that your other current threads are about organising a large party for yourself (with the help of your "not close" family!) and paying £30.50 per month for a Virgin Media deal I'm afraid that I have little sympathy for you.
Good luck with your interview.0 -

She also lives with her "not so close" parents.
Do you get HB and CTB for living at "home" ?
Noticed you posted your query at 3am JL20. I do hope you get your weary bones out of bed in time for your interview. You sound dedicated, so with no bus fare I presume you will be doing an early start and walking? (Maybe why you were up at 3 - so excited).
Please post and let everyone know how you got on.0 -
Do these people think we're stupid or are they just stupid enough to think we wouldnt realise it.
Apart from anything else, no matter how far it is we have all got legs.
or is it a case of stupid and lazy.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Why do people waste everybody's time like this? Posted by the OP 2 months ago in answer to someone else's question about travel to interview expenses
"You need too ring them up first and then they will ask you go to in and they will sort out travel costs but they will decide the cheapest way too travel as well...but it has too be done before the interview but you won't get the money until after the interview and you show them the tickets from travelling."

1. I got the virgin media deal and was on about the birthday party before all my problems happened thank you.....
2. Yes i "houseshare" with my mother who for one does not give me any money.....i pay for rent and bills myself.....she does not! I live independantly in that respect!
3. The only reason i hadnt asked them for travel costs is because i had family who could take me until just before i posted today!!
4. I do not like too be called stupid and lazy on an online forum......
5. No i can not go walking around swansea on my own and no it isnt because i am lazy because i walked far enough for school in the past! I am not allowed too go walking around swansea because i was living in a domestic violence home from the age of 10 to 15 and the man got away with it still walks the exact same streets....If i was too see him while i am alone walking the streets...i do not like too think what would happen! Considering he wants me dead.....
Also i would like too add yes i get jobseekers allowance, housing benefit and council tax benefit.......JSA does not cover half my bills let alone the rest!! I have done everything the jobcentre has asked since i first signed on they have never had a problem with me! I was the one who first asked to be referred to NHS admin training........
So i do thank you for your very "great" advice!0 -
