WOW, that was EASY!

I just wanted to say Thanks Martin!

I am a fan of your slot on Jeremy Vines show and now use your site as a first port of call for 'best' financial companies practises.

Generally we are very good with money and avoid debts, but (after paying for a recent car repair bill of £1000) our credit card debt has gotten a bit scary up to £4000. Although I am a contractor and am earning enough money usually to pay nearly £1000 a month off on the credit card (rent is cheaper than a mortgage these days!), I wanted to find a way to reduce the interest charges.

My first thought was to go for a low cost 12 month loan. I first tried Zopa but they couldn't identify me online apparantly...don't know why (we have lived in 8 different addresses in 9 years, and have had three different jobs since being made redundant in April 2003 - now in a great job at Airbus working on the new superjumbo A380..fantastic!) so tried A&L Moneybank. Their application required a phone call. I was completely open and honest with them, and they did say I could borrow, but tried the hard sell on the Loan Payment protection (I tried it once before on a car loan, and had to claim on it, it was a mega hasstle and in the end only really ended up recouping the life cost of the protection and not much more, I vowed never to bother ever again, except perhaps for a mortgage...), and then found that the Interest rate was not 5.6% APR but 8.9%, so I pulled the application.

I received junk mail from IMNB for a credit card with 0% balance transfers, so thought I'd try MoneySavingExpert. And you came up trumps. Did the online application for the NSPCC card via HBOS, and they have accepted me with no phone call, straight off!!! It was EASY & QUICK!!! Now I just have to work out how to do the actual transfer. There will also be no worries on me spending with the card, we've done it several times with store cards (until we lost track of one and a mistake their end happened...thats a whole other story).

SO thank you again Martin.

I suppose I may have saved nearly £200!!

Keep up the good work!

PS agreed with you on the music front over the Pink Floyd...rubbish! Jean Michelle Jarre though is brilliant! :-)
