Hi guys
I'm thinking of buying my guy a new watch, but I've only got about £100 to spend. His last one was a leather strap, so I'm thinking something similar. But I know - literally - nothing about good makes of watches or where to get them cheap/avoid buying fakes!
Anyone help?
Thanks!

Depends on his age, fashion consciousness, brand awareness etc.
My rather fussy (read bl**dy awkward!) adult son trekked everywhere last year shopping for a new watch.
This was the brand he came home with although his was silver with links.

He's 28... reasonably conservative but does buy brands... FCUK and that kind of thing. I would think he'd want something reasonably simple, leather but good quality.0 -
I just treat myself to this little beaut on Monday:

But these were a few others I was contemplating, hope this helps. I buy most of my watches from H Samuel, they're good when anything goes wrong and always decent priced. Most of the watches I was choosing between had a nice slice off the original price tag. Also depends if you wanna get him a watch for going out, or for daytime.

Watches are a bit like aftershaves, we know what we like, so stick to the leather strap. As previously mentioned Amazon sell some nice ones, their RRP can be a touch exaggerated.catch220

Fossil watches are quite fashionable
you would get a really good one for
well under a £100.they do some
nice querky watches as well if your
looking for something a bit diffeent.

similar request for suggestions - apologies dont mean to highjack the thread but simply could not figure out how to start a new thread [blush]. my hubby has worn the same wristwatch for the last 10 yrs, and we have gone thru some bad times together. Now that things are finally looking up, I thought I would buy him a nice watch for his 40th birthday. I would prefer to spend something in the range of £200 but can stretch to 400. He is a very simple bloke, who doesn't usually wear brands, but is now reasonably middle-senior management with a bank in the City. Please help me choose something, which is in keeping with his age and personality...not too blingy or too obvious, if you know what I mean, at the same time something that is understated elegance and people will appreciate that it is an expensive piece (if 400 can be called expensive!). Sorry for rambling on - wanted to give you enough background that you had something to go on. Any suggestions much appreciated. Oh and leather straps only (allergies)..and something universal that he can wear to work with suits of varying colours. Please please help, the big day is barely a week off!0
