Possible Hosts File Corruption ??
Comments
-
Well.....it looks like this particular pc is headed for the great re-install in the sky
Re-checked the DNS settings, they had been turned off hence the inability to flush..reset and it survived several restarts..so far so good...
Reinstated Hosts file, not corrupted as such, only the normal one entry (for the pc) in there, but interestingly without all the microsoft blurb preceeding it...re-immunised with spybot...still ok...
LSPFix run, no errors reported....thinking this is looking good...
several browsing sessions later and the f*&£&^g thing hangs again:mad:
the guy was very sympathetic to me tearing my hair out, but it looks destined for a fresh install in the new year after he's bought a new pc exclusively for his work stuff, and only needs this one for his personal stuff....
...don't you just hate it when you can't pin down the bl00dy cause....but, hey, repeat business after xmas

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
