Street Names in my Town

I am a volunteer for my local church. We need to find out the names of every street in our town which is growing quite fast.
Can anyone suggest an easy way of finding out all the street names without having to physically walk round the town (population 15,000)
Would the Post Office provide this information? I suspect they will charge for it. Or is there a website that might give me the street names?

Try the local council, they will have a gazetteer and it might be easy for them to do a export of street names from it. Whether or not they will give it to you is a different matter altogether!Dogs have owners...my cat has slaves...0

Well, I would start by printing out maps from google maps and crossing them off one by one.
Why do you need to know every street name?0 -
We deliver a magazine to every household in the town, but can't keep up with the names of the new streets. If we know the street names it will help us to get volunteers to deliver. The magazine is an important part of welcoming people who may be new and alone.
I just wondered if anyone could think of a way to get a list from the internet. Google maps are not up to date.0 -
Do I need to register on A-Z? I can't seem to get an index of streets to come up?0

I would suggest buying a copy of your local A - Z they only cost a few pounds and they will have a list of all the streets in the city in alphabetical order.2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0

Yes, that's what I meant. The website itself doesn't list any streets or contain online maps; it's just the place where you can order any A-Z map of any area.dieselhead wrote: »I would suggest buying a copy of your local A - Z they only cost a few pounds and they will have a list of all the streets in the city in alphabetical order.
Regarding google maps not being up to date, I'm afraid you'll find that with any source you come across. No database is future-proof; you can only get hold of the latest edition you can, then keep checking for newer editions.0 -
The postcode directory will do this. Your local library or post office will have a copy, though it may not be 100% up to date. (If you want a copy to keep you'll have to buy it - it still won't be up to date)0
