M&S Ipod Deal - What a con

Hi

Has anyone else had problems with M&S and their ipod deal? The offer was buy an ipod nano and get a free M&S alarm clock. I ordered both and was sent an email confirming this. On Tuesday the ipod arrived on its own. On the same day I get an email from M&S 'customer services' saying that the alarm clock is out of stock so tough you cant have it.

I'm not so upset about the lack of alarm clock but extremely frustrated about the way they handled it. How cynical is it that the email arrived on the same day as the parcel? Surely when they sent the parcel, they knew that the alarm clock was out of stock - otherwise they would have sent both?

When I complained, the answer I got was that my comments had been noted and have a pleasant day.

Grrrrrrr!!! Has anyone actually received the alarm clock? Or was this just a marketing stunt by M&S?

if you bought it on the strength of the clock then return it
if it was a good price then i would complain to M&S again regarding the fact they offered the clock as a deal with the ipod
was it an ipod compatible clock?

    Me too
I am so mad about it.

I bought an ipod touch with this free alarm clock. Have had several emails since then and they assure me it will come. Then had an email I have been charged. full price. Then a phone call telling me that it was ok and to phone them back on this number if a problem occurs so I did and "this number does not receive inbound calls" message.

This is not the end, I have not broken the seal on the ipod touch and intend to return it. what a rip off, I thought more of M & S. I was wrong

Yes it was ipod compatible. I could have got the ipod touch from argos (via quidco, with cashback) for less but decided that it was a better deal with the clock radio/ ipod dock at m&s.

I have just emailed them to ask how I get a refund as I am very upset that they have deceived me in this way.

We shall see how they respond!!!
