Access your belkin's setup pages and make sure you've entered your BT internet logon details correctly. This is prob the most common cause of such issues...

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

Check also, in the router's configuration pages, that the Encapsulation is set correctly – probably "PPPoA (PPP over ATM)", whereas my Netgear arrived originally set to "PPPoE (PPPover Ethernet)" – and that you have entered the correct Domain Name Server ("DNS") addresses.

The latter addresses take the form of a series of four groups of numbers, separated by points. For example, if your ISP is PlusNet, you would set:

    Primary DNS: 212.159.13.49
    Secondary DNS: 212.159.13.50

If your ISP is giving you a Static IP address, you'll need to enter that, too. Otherwise (if it's a Dynamic IP, which means it varies) select that option and it will be acquired automatically by your router from your ISP.

Also ensure that Network Address Translation ("NAT") is set to "Enable", not "Disable".

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

  • my neighbour tried to connect to his wireless network with my laptop and couldn't, so looks like its not the router??? comments please

Have you tried with an ethernet cable from 'start up'? (Powering up with the cable already in)

Have you actually configured the Belkin?
