What a joke.
Do it yourself for free - then you'll get to keep 100% of the money
Bargepole - don't go near."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I agree with mrcow, if you have the time then I would do it yourself.
If not then I would use them as they will do all the work for you. They are based in Paignton, Devon. I have used them in the past. They specialise in reclaiming mis-sold endowments, ppi, bank charges and credit card charges.
If you google "EMC Advisory Services Ltd" then you will get their telephone number and can have more of a chat. They are regulated by the Ministry of Justice so are definitely legitimate.0 -

Rubbish.
It's got nothing to do with time.
You don't need time to make PPI etc reclaims. It takes a couple of letters and that's that.
You either work for them or have some sort of affiliation.
OP - take no notice of anyone who advises using a third party to help with reclaiming. All the info you need is right here on this site - and for free!Never use anyone to do your reclaiming for you. It's a rip off."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Totally agree with mrcow on this one.
Go through the information on this site , download the template letters, get as many details as you can about your loan, empower yourself & you will be sorted in an hour, make sure you send your letter recorded post.
If for example the missold ppi on your loan comes out at around £2000 ( a rough guess ) , you could be giving away £560 (to someone else ) - I,d do it for half of that - only joking !!
You will get immense satisafaction when you do it & feel even better when all the money goes to you.
Good luck & keep MSE updated with your progress & if you are not sure just ask !

and will me only charge 28%. No win no fee.
Not bad considering the FSA complaints process costs nothing to use and a template letter shouldnt take you a few minutes. Personalise the letter a bit and you will stand more chance of success (template letters statistically have a higher failure rate and most claims companies use template letters). Do you want to give up 28% for getting someone else to do 2 minutes work?
Always be wary of new posters singing the praises of a claims company. Much of the time they are self promoting spams.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Do not go there why are you paying for somebody to do what you can do and losing 28%. You have as much chance of winning as they do and it will take as long. Let this site help you it is so easy.x:mad:0

Jamesfeatherstone,
OK, so heres the score.......Doing it yourself costs a couple of stamps, if you don't have your original loan docs you will need to use the SAR form from MSE and send a cheque to the lender for £10.
So you can keep total control and stand on your own two feet for the princely sum of < £15.
Or you can let a company which are no better than bankers rip you off. You may think it takes a lot of hard work to get your details in order, but who do you think will get that info for the claims company....You will
A bank can make a goodwill gesture payment but they do not pay your solicitors etc normally as part of their goodwill.
MSE is all about empowering people......feel the power.....You can get more advice and support from the MSE forums than you would from these rip of merchants.
When you read the forum you will see that people found out that they were ripped off, they followed the simple templates from the MSE website and got support along the way from the forums. It's all free...just a couple of hours of sorting out the loan paperwork etc.It is a Camels temperament that has truly endeared the camel to man.Docile and sweet under a caring hand. But stubborn and angry if ill treated.the camel both wins your heart and your respect.0 -
I would NEVER entertain a company which cold calls. They cold call because IT BENEFITS THEM AND MAKES THEM MONEY - YOUR MONEY.
Whether it's PPI claiming, great offers on shares, bargain merchandise, holiday 'wins' - ask yourself, why has this person taken the trouble to contact ME? Is it because they are such a nice person/company that they want to help you get money/a bargain?
No - it is simply because they want your money. Nothing more, nothing less.
In your case, as well as refusing their kind 'offer' I would be very much wanting to know who passed them your private information.0 -
thanks to all who offered some advice

I am so glad I Googled EMC Advisory Services and immediately found this/these threads!
This lot have been phoning our home for days on end. Usually there's no-one there when we pick up but the number is shown on 1471.
Today, fed up with it because I'm registered with the TPS, I phoned them back and said who are you?
They immediately launched into a spiel about me having done a survey (I have no recollection of that) and that my registration with the TPS is therefore irrelevant (I don't think so) and asked if we had an under-performing endowment policy.
Very uneasily I replied yes, wondering how the heck they knew that. They immediately said they could instigate a complaint for me. Against whom, I asked. The person who sold it to you, they said. I laughed out loud. It was our financial advisor, who has been in constant contact with us over this situation and offered constant advice and suggestions all in writing.
That would be interesting, I said down the phone, since it matures in March. That doesn't matter said EMC. Also, this policy was taken out 12 years ago and we have had several red-warning letters from the policy provider, I said. That doesn't matter, they said.
Yes it does. This policy was time-barred YEARS AGO.
We have other financial arrangements in place with the mortgage company, and have had for well over a year.
I'm glad I read this thread. I think I'll now complain to the TPS about them, if I can be bothered.0
