Buying downloads

Hi,
It would appear that the only way to play PC games that I like, is to buy the downloads
I cannot find anyone that sells hard copies of these games!
I can only find one's that require you to become a member (£4.95 per month - 2/12 months min) then buy a cheaper rate game once a month.
I have tried the free versions (1hr) on several sites but I do not know which is the most reputable.
Does anyone know if I may have missed something or is the above correct?
Thanks
Carmen x
PS. The games are 'seek and find' like this I found on MSN games

Apparently they're called 'hidden object' games. Have you checked all of the locations mentioned previously?0

Tanglefoot, checked them out, thank you.
I did order a game via a friends membership but game did not play properly  and trying to contact *ig*ish is proving very difficult. My friend had no problem with his game

GamersGate might be worth looking into. As for boxed versions, Amazon UK seems to sell a few but they don't appear to have been correctly categorised. Most of them are classed as 'Adventure' games for some reason...0

Tanglefoot, you are a star :T
I have found one or two I am going to order from Amazon, I never thought to look there
I also understand why some of the free trials did not work for me...only compatable with Vista!
