Building Insurance Query

I brought a flat last year and unfortunately have since found out the freeholder which is a company is a bit of a nightmare. They have never asked for me to send money to them and I am now wondering if the building insurance that they should of renewed has actually been renewed?!
They dont ever return letters or calls, so is there a way of finding out if my building currently has building insurance?!!

Hi
You need to speak to your neighbours. Someone should know what the score is.
You should be paying monthly or quartely fees to cover maintenance issues,. as well as the blocks of flats Buildings Insurance.
Once you know from a neighbour what Buildings cover is in force and how much the fees are, you should put the money to one side. At some point, you will be asked to pay the fees backdated to the date you bought the flat.
Suggest you ask a neighbour for a contact name and address for the freehold company, so you can send them a recorded delivery letter. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
