Hi
When having a clean out recently I came across a British Gas cheque refund for £137 from Dec 2007[dont ask how I missed it!]. I am no longer with BG but contacted them in Sept 09 regarding getting a replacement cheque. Emailled them and they said no problem just send us the old one and we will replace it in a few days time.
I am still waiting!!!
I have emailled BG several times and each time all I get is we dont understand why you havent received a replacement cheque but we will get back to you as soon as possbile. I contacted them on the 9th Nov in reply they said that it had been passed to a specialist team to investigate and that they would contact me within 48 hrs. Im still waiting, I havent heard from anyone. I have emailled them three times since and they are now just ignoring me.
I know that it is my fault that I forgot to bank it in the first place, but what are my rights regarding getting them to take notice of me. They have my old cheque [I do have a photo copy though which I kept].
Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance
