Anyway to hide your IP?

Hi guys, Ive been trying to download something through rapidshare, but it won't let me because my IP is the same as all other ntl customers.

Could someone please recomend a good ip hiding or something like that type of software?

I tried "Hide IP Platinum" but that didnt work.

Any help = Greatly appreciated.

Hmmm I was just wondering is it legal to change your IP and or proxy?

More-over, what is a proxy!

Once again, any help would be greatly greatly appreciated

    NTL block rapidshare?

Take a screen shot of this telling you this.

All I know is if you don't have a rapidshare account you download a file.

Then if you go back for another piece and you have not disconnected and reconnected it says wait 75 minutes or something.

So disconnect and download new file.

Weird they would block NTL, as for blocking ip, not illegal, ghost surf is a good app for for changing you ip.

There are some sites where you can actualy go through their site for free and it reroutes the data through their site.

Can't remember it right now. Just google for it.

/edit.. Just been googling ntls' proxy and rapidshare, thats bang out of order.

A proxy is a remote server that redirects your web requests to another server. For example, let's say you are A, you want to access C and you're using proxy B. You send a message to B saying you want to access C. B access C for you, and sends the site back to you. This way C will think it is B accessing the site.

Be aware that public proxies are usually very very slow and far from 'anonymous'

Hide IP Platinum is your best bet, in my experience its the only one that works... are you sure yhour using it correctly? simply double click on it from your desktop, and a little logo with a green arrow which turns into a globe will appear in your little icons bar. THERE IS NO PROGRAM that pops up or anything.. i didnt realise it was on until after a few attempts at finding it.

If your unsure simply go to http://cmyip.com and that will tell you your IP's country.. if its not UK, then Hide IP is working.

Ive never heard of hide IP not working...
  • try this online, nothing to dowload

  • geesh, none of you heard of Tor? If you set it up try and run it as a server as this helps everyone elses use of it improve too. The program is totally free, works perfectly and (for me at least) easy to set up.

"Tor: An anonymous Internet communication system
Tor is a toolset for a wide range of organizations and people that want to improve their safety and security on the Internet. Using Tor can help you anonymize web browsing and publishing, instant messaging, IRC, SSH, and other applications that use the TCP protocol. Tor also provides a platform on which software developers can build new applications with built-in anonymity, safety, and privacy features"

    Official site:
    http://tor.eff.org/
    Windows users:
    http://wiki.noreply.org/noreply/TheOnionRouter/Tor4Windows

Can be used for p2p, but please dont, the infrastructure cannot support that kinda heavy traffic and of course its morally wrong.

Just to clarify ntl connections go through local web cache servers thats why a lot of people on ntl will not be able to access rapidshare because as far as rapidshare is concerned it can only 'see' one IP address and thats the one of the cache server so even if you do get a proxy I doubt it will help much. Only the IP addresses differ at a local level so each individual comupter can be identified when accessing data requests.
