This is probably a long shot but I really need to burn a DVD for a friend in the States and it needs to be NTSC (she doesn't have a PC you see). I tried DVD Flick but that had a watermark on it as it was only the free trial. Does anybody know of any other free ones I could try? Thanks all!

Weird, DVD Flick has always been fine for me.
Do you need something that will convert a video clip on your computer to a 'normal' DVD or just something that will burn any file to a DVD?It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

Depends on what you're trying to burn to the DVD and what format it is in?0

It's basically a load of interviews and TV appearances of her favourite band, they're all in .avi format. I tried Nero and that wouldn't let me do it as it wasn't the full version.0

Try ashampoo to burn DVD. NTSC is the output from the DVD player, you do not burn in NTSC format. Other tahn regional restrictions, any DVD will play anywhere in the world.
download from here, totally free although you do have to register - later you can remove your name from mailing list once you are registered.0 -

Oh, I didn't realise that. When I've made discs in the past and saw the option to burn pal or ntsc I assumed they had to be the right format!

There is a 30 day trial of the excellent DVD-lab Pro.
I don't know these DVD authoring packages myself, but:

I don't think this is correct. PAL and NTSC DVDs have different frame sizes, audio systems and frame rates. NTSC DVDs will play on most PAL DVD players, although you may have to perform a specific procedure to unlock it. NTSC DVD players are less adept at playing PAL discs. Computers should be able to play both. DVD Demystified goes into depth about this.0
