Advice on 0% Balance Transfer Cards

in Credit cards
Hi there
I was hopiong someone could help me. I currenlty have a credit card with HSBC which I pay above the minimum off every month and owe £2600 on. I also have a virgin card which I used to clear my overdraft earlier this year and is still on a 0% interest offer until next June.
As I only have £600 left on the virgin card and wanted to clear my HSBC card debt, I asked them to increase my limit but was told I couldnt. Will this now show on my credit file?
Also, would it be worth while applying for another 0% card to transfer the balance to and what would the chances of getting another one be?
I am employed and am in the process of buying a house (currently renting), we should be completing in two weeks - would waiting until then and being able to say that I was a home owner increase my chances of getting a good deal?
Thanks
Kelly
