Hi , I paid for a christmas tree 11 days ago it was £100 from Homebase who said it was in stock and they would order it and took my money!
They left a message yesterday saying that the tree was unavailable yet they have had my money for 11 days now, and when i origonally ordered i they said it was definately available within 14 days. They have now sold the display tree also as i would have been happy to take that! do i have any rights as a consumer? it took me ages to find the tree i wanted but they don't seem to be bothered! they have offered me my money back but i will have to drive to the store in order to ge the refund and that isn't the point as i wanted the tree. ! thoroughly exasperated

What rights do you want? They've offered you your money back, and the 14 days isn't even up yet.0

The most you could probably ask for is travel expenses to compensate you for your trip to store to obtain the refund. Good Luck0

Homebase are usually very good for customer service - Quite surprised at what they have done to you.
I remember my Grandad getting so angry with them once over the phone that the manager came to my Grandad's house in his own personal car with about 6 bags of compost - free of charge! The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

I'd complain straight to their head office- get someone to hear what happened to you, say how unhappy you are and how it will mean you and your family wont get a tree this year.
Homebase have just had a revamp, they are trying very hard to advertise and get new customers, I'm sure they'd love to hear what happened to you. Make sure you mention names and dates and times.0 -
Isn't Homebase and Argos the same company? Is your tree available in Argos?0

Phone their head office and find out if any other stores have stock of your tree. I am sure that someone has one on their shelf somewhere....
I'm not having a tree this year - but mainly cos the dog will knock it over more times than I would want to pick it up!!Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved!
