Refund held in backlog and confused!

Hi all

I recently went through the process of reclaiming PPI on my Intelligent Finance loan, and got a letter outlining what I should be receiving and when, plus recalculating my loan balance.

I should have received my refund during November; I called up last week to double-check and to get the recalculated balance of my loan. I was told they had a backlog of claims but I should expect to receive a cheque in the next week or so.

I called up again today; my DD for my loan instalment hadn't come out on 1st as usual and wanted to query this. After some investigation it seems that it wasn't claimed because it appears I have a credit balance on my loan...?

My initial thought was that as well as recalculating my balance, they'd refunded the PPI directly onto my loan thus putting me in credit. However the advisor didn't want to speculate as he said they hadn't processed my refund yet

So now I'm confused! I got a letter whereby the PPI refund plus interest had been calculated and broken down for me to see, so as far as I was concerned I was simply waiting for the refund to arrive.

Now I'm being told they don't know definite figures and my balance isn't in debit, it's in credit and not to worry about my DD.

Can anyone shed any light - I grilled the advisor but he couldn't tell me anything much other than what I've said!

This does seem to be rather confusing doesn't it?

Have they got a separate department who sorts out the refunds who you can contact?

You have every right to now what is going on with your money here, give them a ring if that wasn't the department you already spoken to.

I am baffled by this as well to be honest, maybe someone else could shed some light on this for you, fingers crossed.

I would though keep on at them if you can.;)
