I was going to say Britannia hotels. They are doing a £999.00 deal for I think it is 100 guests or it could be 50. I also know some are doing a £2010. for 2010 where even more is included.0

It was Sywell Village Hall in Northamptonshire, could probably accommodate 35-40 people seated and has the village church next door. Can I be cheeky and ask what the £12 per hour venue was? Me and OH are hoping to get married in 2011 and live in Bedfordshire so would be really helpful

Are there not any nice pubs/clubs in the area which you can look into? We've booked our evening reception in a student club in the university for 150 people and the only thing that we're paying for is the in-house catering. The hiring of the club is completely free.trying to become a moneysaving student0

Try the university - when I was there they often hired out areas/rooms for private functions. Or are there any nice canal-side pubs in Brindley Place?0

Have you tried your local favourite pub? We had our wedding reception in our local, we simply took the whole place (except the public bar) over for the evening. No charge for the rooms, the whole lot cost us less than £1k and that was for 100 people.
Did the same for the first Christening.
Went down really well with everyone.0 -
Have you tried muslim or hindu meeting halls? masonic halls? they all tend to be on the large side.0

Have you looked into local town halls in your borough?0

Or have you tried schools? If you have family in Birmingham they must have kids who go to schools or hopefully someone who is a governor who could get you a deal. We got our for £300 for the day plus £50 for caretaker, which included being there most of Friday, all of Saturday and a few hours of Sunday to clear up. We then got a BBQ caterer for a couple of thousand (for 160 covers 2 courses including plates and cutlery), bought soft drinks and snacks at costco and asked people to bring their own alcohol.0
