hello everyone,
Im after some help on claiming some PPI back as iv got myself in a mess over the previous years but now nearly sorted.
I have had a loan with Barclays i have sent them the first letter and they are now sending me a questionaire, I am unsure what to do with this, is this just to try and trip me up, or do I just send it back saying I have detailed the reasons and want you to look into it ?
Next is Santander have sent me a letter after the first one saying, that I'm only trying to claim due to the fact I have seen it on TV, although it was sold before 2005 and my claim should be valid. Next they told me that they have no record of how the sales process was done so this is not valid in there books and i had 30 days in order to cancel the PPI. They have also put on the letter that even though I was not asked if i had a pre existing medical condition, also the fact that It doesn't matter if Have this as they will pay out in any case.
Last but not least Black horse they have said that they didn't miss sell the insurance that it was the dealership, and that is up to them to refund me and that they have forwarded a letter onto the dealership and it is upto them to refund me my money
Any help on any of these subjects would be greatly appreciated this website has already got me £500 pounds back from Egg
Thanks in advance
Daz

Well done on your EGG success.hello everyone,
Hello Daz and welcome.;)
Im after some help on claiming some PPI back as iv got myself in a mess over the previous years but now nearly sorted.
Don't worry, most of us here have been in the same position, we will try to help you as much as we can.
I have had a loan with Barclays i have sent them the first letter and they are now sending me a questionaire, I am unsure what to do with this, is this just to try and trip me up, or do I just send it back saying I have detailed the reasons and want you to look into it ?
These now I believe are becoming a procedure, if this loan was taken out over the last 5/6 years, and still running they should actually still hold your information, try to complete the questionnaire to the best of your knowledge, write in brackets on some of the questions that ask questions about your reclaim (please refer to my letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, as I have already explained my reasons on the letter that you have already received).
Then if they ask questions to the purchase of the policy, write something like (please refer to my account, you should hold these details from when you sold me the policy).
They must still get back to you by the 8 weeks they have.
Not to worry, this is a standard fob off, so what if it was on TV or so, if this wasn't the final response, then write back and tell them you do not agree or your not happy with their decision, despite their findings, you are requesting they reconsider or you will take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), give them 7-14 days as from your letter.
Otherwise if this was the final decision move on to the FOS.
Last but not least Black horse they have said that they didn't miss sell the insurance that it was the dealership, and that is up to them to refund me and that they have forwarded a letter onto the dealership and it is upto them to refund me my money
Yes this is correct, you write to the ones who arranged the finance, if your not sure BH should be able to let you know.

My girlfriend has just been though the santander letter, do I still have a case even if I have signed to say I accepted the terms and conditions, the fact I didn't really want PPI. As I put in the letter that I was worried about how it was sold to me and that the sales person implied it would be my best option to have this cover.
Thanks Daz
The Black horse thing does that mean the finance company didn't take my money so who should give me the money and take responsibility the car dealer or the finance company0 -

Hi Daz
It makes no difference if you signed the agreement, as we all have agreements to sign when taking out finance anyway, and you have your reasons despite this.
In regards of BH, its whoever sold and arranged you the finance, if it was the dealer of the car company you write to them.
Hope this helps, good luck and please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
