Electoral Roll Updates?

in Credit cards
I moved to my present address last June and registered online to be on the electoral roll. I just checked my credit file and I am still shown as not being on the roll.
In a previous post someone said it should show up in December. Does anyone know approx what time of the month it will appear on my credit file? Thanks.
I am waiting to apply for a balance transfer credit card and I to ensure I have a GOOD chance of being approved.

I'd recommend contacting your local Council's electoral registration office to check whether they have got you on the list. In August or September they would have updated the whole register and usually send a form to every household. The new register should be in place now as of early December. Below is useful info about how the register is updated throughout the year once people contact them to let them know any changes, eg moving. If you are not on there, then hopefully you could be on by mid January.
(This is the standard info that Councils work to:)
If we receive your form before Friday 11 December 2009
Your details will be changed on Monday 4 January 2010
If we receive your form before Friday 8 January 2010
Your details will be changed on Monday 1 February 2010
If we receive your form before Friday 5 February 2010
Your details will be changed on Monday 1 March 2010
If we receive your form before Wednesday 10 March 2010
Your details will be changed on Thursday 1 April 2010
If we receive your form before Monday 12 April 2010
Your details will be changed on Tuesday 4 May 2010
If we receive your form before Monday 10 May 2010
Your details will be changed on Tuesday 1 June 2010
If we receive your form before Wednesday 9 June 2010
Your details will be changed on Thursday 1 July 2010
If we receive your form before Friday 9 July 2010
Your details will be changed on Monday 2 August 2010
If we receive your form before Tuesday 10 August 2010
Your details will be changed on Wednesday 1 September 2010n
There is no monthly update during September, October or November during the annual canvass period when all households have to register. A new Register is published in
December.
However, who knows how up to date the info used by the Credit agencies might be? I have no idea whether they request or have access to the monthly updates from Jan to Seot. After all there are well over 200 Councils and they all administer their own registers, and the primary purpose is that an up to date list of people can vote when an election is called.
Hope this is of some help.0 -

Don't apply until you're on the E/R cos it's almost certain you'll get declined for the higher end cards if you're not on the E/R....2010 - year of the troll

You say you moved in June, but don't mention when you registered your current details on the electoral roll.
You can view the electoral register at your nearest public library to make certain you're listed. Alternatively, if you opted out of the edited register (which is sold to anyone who wants to buy and which may be viewed in a public library), you can check the full version at the electoral services department of your local council.
I'd contact your local registration office anyway to ask when the credit reference agencies are next updated, as dates vary slightly between boroughs. Then check your electoral status is correctly recorded on credit files at your current address before you apply for a new credit card.
Btw, the CRAs seem happy to answer questions over the phone if you quote the reference number on your most recent credit report. So if you wanted to check that your electoral status had since been updated, there's no need to order further copiesPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
