Surely as a board guide you have a duty not to make untrue statements " a CAB adviser would not be able to hurry them along" they can, as in my case she did just that.

Of course the OP should seek the advice of the CAB who can help her lodge a complaint and look at any other benefits that they may be entitled to whilst they are waiting for the decision, such as the discretionary hardship fund.
I am not making untrue statements, I am ensuring that the OP does not get false expectations that the CAB will work miracles, they will do everything to help the OP, but they may not be able to speed up the DM process.
p.s I may be a BG but I am also a regular user and as it says in my signature any opinions are my own

The ability of CAB to help along claims is reliant on the departments good will.
They are mediators some of the time and can be really helpful but their words dont carry as much weight as the words of an MP (Or elected representatives to the devolved institutions).0
