Car insurance renewal

Hi
My car insurance is due for renewal on the 9TH of December and my premium has increased this year by about 30 quid. I have checked around and found an insurer willing to match my old premium. In the past I have haggled with my current provider with some success. My question is “ is there an optimum time of day and week to do the haggling” I had considered phoning on Friday afternoon, does any one have any notion when the most opportune time is to do this ?
Thanks Dit

In my experience, if you phone up and say you are leaving due to a difference of £30, it doesn't matter what time it is or what day. They will happily match your other quote.
Sorry that doesn't answer your question, but for such a small difference I don't see there being a time of the week where they will not match / offer to beat the other quote.0 -
you can imagine that when you are getting closer to month end then people may be slightly more willing to work for a sale so they get their bonus but then month end may not be at the end of a calendar month. On the flip side, catch someone just before their shift ends and they are less likely to be bothered with getting a manager to come over and authorise premium reductions etc especially as this type of "overtime" is unpaid. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

If its massively different they won't even attempt it.
I had a renewal for £475 with Esure and direct line came up at £315.
Esure didn't even bother.
When I worked in IT for Abbey we had a setting on the system for -5% and -10% renewal retention and that was all that would be offered.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
