But really the supplier is still ABC, whether they are selling direct from their site, through an ad in the local paper or via ebay. They are allowed to refund your postage costs if they want to.

If ABC.com refused to refund your postage costs after their own error what would you do?
At least with eBay you have the option of leaving feedback.

I used to both buy and sell on Ebay on a VERY regular basis.

Unfortunately though, when Ebay stated that you had to offer PayPal as a method of payment i told them to shove it immediately.

Ebay are a law unto themselves and no matter how many fines they get, they just pay up and carry on as usual.

PayPal are a different animal altogether, and i believe they operate right on the boundaries of the law and OFTEN cross it.
I still cannot believe people give a cowboy outfit like PayPal and Ebay (one and the same company), direct access to their bank accounts and credit cards.
You might aswell just give them to the first Albanian you see walking dow the street.
