Firsplus PPI Claim

I have an ongoing PPI claim with Firstplus, they have palmed me off for 8 weeks and am expecting my 3rd letter any day which will now be 12 weeks, has anyone even been palmed off on the 12th week or do they usually come up with a full response.
Just to add I have requested all telephone calls and received 3 which have told me nothing, so if their response is based on a telephone call then I havent had it and will be requesting that also.
Whats my chances with this shoddy company lol??

Hi there.;)
As you may know by now that there are an extortionate number of complaints in regards of FP.
Keep at them is best, if they don't resolve this for you, I'm sure the FOS will.
I understand that they like most other finance companies have backlogs of these complaints, but they do tend to get back, but you do also have the opportunity as well to take to the FOS if the 8 weeks have passed and you hear nothing, hopefully you will receive a good result soon, although they are behind on the timescale.
I would if you want to, chase them up, maybe give them your own timescale such as 7 days to get back to you on a decision, its up to you.
Fingers crossed for you, please let us know how you get on cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

My first letter went to them on 20/08 this year and this week after some tooing and throwing, they finally upheld my complaint. Full refund plus interest, refund of premiums paid and lower monthly payment.
During my complaint I reported them to the FOS anyway, but whether this helped I don't know as the FOS have a 3 month or more back log.
So be patient, keep bombarding them, make out if needed that you have copied the FOS in on the letters and all good things come to those that wait. Only flip side is I have to wait 3-4 weeks for cheque now!!!0 -
Don't forget the interest rate issue. Now that's a different ball game. Get your complaints sent off for that.
If you don't know what i'm talking about read the loan forum http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1945441

Hi Amanda
I had the same letters from FP and went to the FOS in August. Received a positive reply from FOS 2 weeks ago to say they are upholding my complaint and will receive contact and a cheque from FP within 6 to 8 weeks.
Contact FOS explaining why you think the PPI was missold asking for a full refund plus 8% interest and ask for the loan to be rescheduled as if PPI had never been sold.
FOS did have a huge backlog but think some agreement has reecntly been made with FP as quite a few refunds are now trickling through. Should have my cheque in the next 6 weeks :j otherwise its back to FOS to kick FP's butts!!! lol
Good luck and keep on at them!0 -
Well done Nicky. As you say i think there has been some sort of directive to BFP to pay up.
Re: my post above on interest rates the Office of Fair Trading are going to give me a "decision" on Friday.
Not sure what that decision entails, e.g. will they actual decide on Fairness, but they have told me, and others at www.FirstPlusComplaints.co.uk that we will be notified on Friday.0
