You can't do that now, there's no wheel on the meter I have.

I never took him up on the offer to do mine, i thought if the house went on fire during the night i may wake up to find i'm dead.

As pointed out, it is NOT a Smart meter it is an electricity monitor.
I suggest you go on to the British Gas site to find out more about it.

I'm on Click 6 for electricity and have one of these monitors, its a bit of fun, not very accurate ( it reads about 15-20% high), but does serve the purpose of making you more aware of your consumption.
The estimated savings are complete b*ll*cks.

The monitor you get is the minim.

I'm expecting massive savings on my next bill in comparison with what the Minim tells me! Been running about 6 weeks now. The Minim shows the last 30 days usage as 684 kWh whereas the actual meter readings show 454. I suspected it was over-reading but I'm surprised that it's by roughly 50%. I suppose if you actually believed the thing you'd be desperate to cut down consumption and thus save a lot!
I acquired a brand new Eon monitor (CurrentCost Classic) at a car boot sale the other day and am running that as well. It does seem to be more accurate than the Minim but it needs a bit longer to be sure.

We've got an old meter with all the clocks and it has got a wheel. Its excellent as when you are using lots of electric you can really see it whizzing round. When i'm home alone it hardly moves:rolleyes:
