I bought a acer lcd moniter last demember from comet. Last week Ive started having problems with it. I think its the cable as its not recognising the computer, Ive also tested with my laptop to rule out the pc.
Anyway I called comet who said I needed to contact acer. I rang acer who were unhelpful in fact they were so rude i put the phone down. I thought i would have some cover from comet? I feel like taking it into the store and demanding they fix it on the spot!
Please advise, many thanks Laura

Easiest thing is to purchase a new monitor lead for a few pounds (try https://www.ebuyer.com for a good price)
If you're still having problems, take it back to comet. I believe it is their responsibility to fix it in the first 12 months - they will most likely send it back to the manufacturer for repair under warranty.
Btw - does it come with a 3-year warranty? I'm sure my Acer LCD does.0 -
your contract is with comet who you bought it from. their contract is with acer.
i think mexican gives good advice, to try a cheap change of cable just to test it. failing that, back to comet.*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

Don't put up with poor service.
I had one problem with Comet WRT a tumble drier. After a complete lack of service etc from the local depot I rang head office and asked to speak to their executive dept.

Tell them that CS were rude to you - you'll get results if you speak to the CEOs office.

Comet staff have been told to insist that you the customer deal with Acer first, this is in breach of your statutory rights, so it is up to you to fight Comet on this.
One other thread was in 'Vent' and the customer took the monitor to Comet and told them to phone Acer.

So you're saying the monitor did not work on your PC or your laptop, is that right? trying a different lead would be a good idea then. if you suspect it's the lead you can atleast rule out if that is or is not the problem.0
