I subscribed in for to this account at the end of March 09, pumping in a further £3600 for the 2009/10 tax year.
The rate is fixed at 3% for 12 months. Waht would be the implications of me transferring to another provider such as Northern Rock? At 3.5% fixed till Dec 2010, is it worth the effort?

Well it's up to you if you think the extra interest is worth it. The account gives 4 penalty free withdrawals in the first 12 months - the transfer out counts as one of the withdrawals.
I am in the same position and had considered transferring to a better fixed rate but I am sitting tight until March as better deals are normally offered in March/April time. 3% with 4 withdrawals allowed is very good at the moment.0 -
Thanks for the reminder jimbow - forgot about the withdrawal conditions. With that in mind, I too will sit tight till end of this tax year.0
