Computer will not start

Hi
Computer was ok until I got at it, I needed to fit an ethernet card which I did and since then it will not start up it goes to the screen which gives options to start in safe mode/restore settings etc but when I select an option the screen freezes,I have taken out the card that I installed but still the same problem,any suggestions appreciated

    It could be that you borked something with static electricity when fitting the card but it's far more likely that you've just disturbed another card. Try reseating everything in sight (including memory chips).

  • Hi, I had the same problem with a firewire card I installed last month. It seems that some manufacturers make cards that are not compatible with certain motherboards - which was the problem in my case.

    What make is your pc and what make is the ethernet card you are trying to install?
