NZ Sauvignon Blanc -Absolute Bargain

If you like New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc - then get some of this !
Tesco Wine Club have a cracking offer of Ocean's Edge Sauvignon Blanc at only £3.16 per bottle this week.(6 bottle case - minimum order 12 bottles, can be mixed with another wine and they have a very good offer on Lagunilla Rioja Reserva) New customers get £10 off first order as well. We have used this wine and whilst it is not in the top bracket, it is very drinkable and is currently in their shops at £8.99 per bottle, so this is a whacking 65% discount. Ideal for Christmas parties etc. Be quick !

Looks like the sauvignon blanc is on for 3 for #10.00 if you don't want to order a case, just checked on the grocery site, not sure if its this price in store as well, but worth checking.
  • Thank you sooooooooooooooo much, the wine was out of stock in the wine club but in stock at my local tesco and I bought 6 bottles for £19.
I have had this wine before and I think I paid about £7.99.

If you bought 6 bottles you should have got the 5% discount in store as well to take the cost down to £17.30 or £17.31.

It is very nice, just had some delivered with my weekly food shop, they gave me an extra 2 bottles as well. :)

The Oceans Edge wine is 3 for £10 this week at Tescos, got some myself :p

    Happy moneysaving all.
  • Well done on getting an extra 2 bottles :-)
I'm not that good at maths...but isnt 5% of £20 £1 making the wine £19?
I've been looking for my receipt to check and can't find the bl***y thing!
It's so annoying when you can't find something lol.
I looked at the prices online and a case is about £17...something but it's out of stock and that's why I went to my local tescos today.
A bottle is now being chilled atm.....I need a glass for my risotto *coughs

It is to do with the way they work the discount out.

The bottle costs £8.99 or 3 for £10
    6 times £8.99 is £53.94
5% discount, for buying 6 or more, on that is £2.70
The bottles are 3 for £10 and you have 6 so that is £20.
Then the original discount is knocked off leaving £17.30.

It sounds daft but it is true.

This only works on 3 for £10, 2 for £10 etc not half price deals as the till recognises the new lower price and gives the 5% discount on that.

Earlier in the year when Tesco had 25% on 6 or more we got some wine for £13 for 6, it was £9.99 a bottle 3 for £10. :j

Got some of this yesterday and had some when I got home - it really isn't worth £8.99 a bottle, IMHO, but I like Marlborough SB very much and it's definitely something I'd be happy to pay £5 or £6 for, so at £2.88 a bottle after all discounts it is a really fantastic bargain! All you have to do to get the multuiple discounts, as the previous poster said, is make sure you buy a multiple of 3 and get at least 6).

I have a feeling that the offer expires today.

  • I'm glad that tesco's have this daft way of discounting the wine ....lol
Even more of a bargain, the risotto was yummy and needless to say I finished off the rest of the bottle...oops
I agree its not worth £8.99, and yes the offer expires today.
Thank you OP and hope everybody enjoys their wine.

Love NZ SB and like this just fine...especially at 2.88!

We drink plenty of wine ... so dealt myself in for 10.5 cases!

Can't see an offer like this reappearing soon, so makes sense....as long as we don;t increase consumption levels! LOL!

    Hmm, I have a question...

As per my previous post, I was sure that this deal expired yesterday.

    On mysupermarket.com it seems to be now ongoing until 13/12: http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesco-price-comparison/White_Wine/Oceans_Edge_Sauvignon_Blanc_750ml.html :j :j :j

    Which is great, BUT...

...the bottle looks completely different from the bottles I bought on Tuesday  Mine is in a clear, straight-sided bottle.

Does it vary by vintage or something?
