  • THIS IS FLAT-ERICS MEALPLAN AND HAVE JUST MOVED IT FROM OTHER THREAD.

Here is my menu for the coming week : :j

Today (Sat 5) Bonfire chilli, rice, garlic bread, dorit)s and dips.
possibly a pudd of apple crumble and custard !

Sun = home made beef madras curry or home made beef goulash.

Mon = Jacket chips and eggs

Tue = Jacket spuds and tuna

Wed = Jacket chips and eggs

Thur = Sausages, jackets and beans

Fri = steak and roasted veg
Thursday and Friday meals might get re-jigged as we ate the sausages today that we are meant to be having on Thursday and the steak meant for friday will get used on sunday for the goulash/curry so if i can find something else to use in the freezer that means I don't have to buy anything then that will be the plan.

Breakfast is typically yogurt and muesli and/or fruit. Lunches next week include chick pea dahl / cous cous / one lunchtime at the pub.
    happy menu planning everyone.

Thank you Penny Pincher :D:j:Dfor pasting my menu on the correct thread. i forgot the thread is week specific.

I itemised most of the foods in my cupboard this afternoon. I will try to do the freezers tomorrow. Thus should be able to re-jig the menu so that Thursday will be sweet and sour chicken and friday jackets, veg and chicken pieces. thus the only spends this week foodwise should be milk and perhaps more spuds.

Monday - bacon, lentil and potato soup with brown bread. Again freezing any leftovers.

Tuesday - Beef chilli from the freezer with either rice or chips

Wednesday - Leftover chilli with jacket potatoe, with some cheese on top.

Thursday - Lunch at Grandma's house so just a sandwich or beans on toast for tea.

Friday - Im spending the day making and freezing quiche for christmas, so i'll make a extra for dinner with either a jacket potato or chips and salad.

Saturday - ricotta and spinage ravioli in a hm tomato sauce

I have never done this before, I am a relatively new MSE, I feel I am getting a bit seasoned now though! I have dipped in and out of the OS and groceries forums for years getting hints and tips. Running low on cash now and get paid 15th EEEK so me and DB went to Mr T today and managed to spend £8 and used a £4 tesco points voucher. So with what limited means we managed to get(I think we did well) I have no choice but to plan our meals ahead:-

Sunday - meatballs (tesco frozen mince £1.98) and spaghetti - inspired by posting my own recipe on Heffi's date thread LOL
Monday - Fish Fingers, potato and spinach (the potatoes are 4 jackets I got reduced for 19p!)
Tuesday- His work Christmas Do - tesco frozen pie (reduced) and mash for me
Wednesday- Turkey Curry with tesco curry sauce (when it was still 4p) and tesco turkey leg 98p
Thursday- Left over Turkey Curry jacket potatoes
Friday- My work Christmas Dinner. Tesco frozen pie (reduced), mash and veg for him
Sat 12th - Fish finger sandwiches (dinner usually light on Sat as DB drinking while watching football!)
Sun 13th-Cottage Pie with other half of mince
    Mon 14th- Pasta bake
Tues 15th - go crazy LOL only joking, I have learnt the error of my ways!

I am DETERMINED to bring my own lunch to work this week, it has been money down the drain all year buying lunch out. So will have jacket potatoes, rice in chicken stock, etc. Lots of frozen bread to use up as well. I might even have a bash at soup with veg I need to use up.

He does not eat breakfast, I will have porridge or eggs.

Dessert will be fairy cakes etc as I have lots of flour etc from my last baking phase :D

Pretty happy as all based on the £8 spent today and stuff I have left to use up in freezer etc - think we will survive until 15th! Sorry I extended my week until then! :D

I'm a bit late and doing this from the top of my head as I'm at work. I'll back date to monday.....

Mon - Tea at OH's parents, chicken something, veg, potatoes and mandarin cheesecake for pud.
Tues - HM chilli, rice and salad
Wed - HM (leftovers from freezer) italian chicken made into a pasta bake with salad.
Thurs - Beef stew and Smash (I don't get home till late, don't want to have to cook potatoes when I get in and I don't like them in stew!)
Fri - I think it was corned beef hash?!
Sat - I froze half of the main course of my M&S 2 for £10 last time
    Sun - Tea at Mum's
    Mon - Tea at OH's
Tues - HM chilli from freezer with jacket spuds and salad.
Wed - HM lasagne (plus extra to freeze)

I'm night shifts fri & sat so I'll be bringing some of the beef stew for packup. Other than that lunches are sandwiches/salad/HM soup. Snacks are fruit, cereal bars and low fat 'crisps' (quavers etc.). Breakfast is cereal, yogurt and banana when I'm at work, when I'm nights or days off it depends what I fancy when I get up!!
