My wife bought some GHD straightners from the above site only to find that the 1st payment was declined so she tried a different credit card and that was accepted. A few days later we found that BOTH payments had been taken from the credit cards even though the 1st had been declined. I spoke to B-Card which was the card declined and they confirmed the payment was successful and they would log it as a dispute but I have to try and sort it out with the retailer. It turns out the retailer is in China and after 2 emails in which they confirmed both orders were taken and asked me to give the other straightners to a friend for Xmas they do not reply after I asked for details of how to get a refund.
Anyone got any helpful advice (apart from the dont buy from China advice)
Thx

Im not sure what your expecting?
go back to Barclaycard, send them the copies of your emails, & point out that you have not had a proper response from them.
i would also wait to see if you actually receive anything, & if its real, as you may well need to do 2 chargebacks
this is them

not exactly a surprise
the OP may want to send that info to Barclaycard as well, & just get them to do a chargeback for both transactions
it really is time for a great big massive flashing sticky on here as to 'how to shop' because time & time again people are coming on here, moaning about scams, being ripped off, fakes etc, yet they havnt even done the most basic of checking.
the same happens on the tickets board0 -
All fair comments and taken! Anybody got any advice on how to handle the fakes when they arrive? Do we just send them back? can we make a claim with the CC company as they are fakes etc?0

thats assuming theyll even arrive
i would be contacting the CC company now & presenting them with all the evidence. *
also, just as backup, send a cancellation email to the email address on the site.
* as in, the lack of response, the 2 payments being taken, that they are in china, that they are a newly registered site, no proper contact details, the brand holder dosnt know who they are etc etc0 -
Well I think they will arrive as i sent an email from a different email address asking for delivery details on order no. *** just to test them and they replied within a day giving a tracking no. which showed it in the Uk awaiting final delivery.0

er, how do you know its a real tracking number?
did it actually work on a real couriers site?
if they do arrive, take pictures, then try & take them to a real retailer of ghd products & compare them to the real things.
do not use them
do not give them to anyone as a present0 -
Well guess what, they just turned up, both of them. I've left them unopened still in the packaging! I also sent another email to the retailer stating I wanted to cancel both orders and request a refund and I finally got an answer
"Dear customer,
Thanks for your letter and purchasing. We asked for our boss,he said we could return you the money. But that needs some days.
Do you agree?
Thanks a lot.
Kind regards

Fakes from China..eh?? You dont say...
I wonder how Chinese girls are at faking orgasms?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
