Virgin 0% if you come back to us offer

Hi there,

I've just had a very interesting conversation with MBNA/ Virgin about their 0% balance transfer deal.

I phoned up to say that I wanted to cancel my card and, when asked, said it was because my current 0% deal with them had run out and I'd transferred my balance away.

I was then told that if, after the 0% deal I'd transferred to ran out, I came back to them *with the same card details* they would give me the 0% deal for another 6 to 9 months.

I asked if that would have a balance transfer fee and was told "the fee is capped at £35 but we may be able waive it"!

Sounds like it's worth a look :)

Cheers,
Graham.

Interesting- cheers. Just had a wee wrangle with RBOS about clearing my card and being charged a BT fee, so I might go back to Virgin.

thats worth knowing as I like MBNA min payment £5 so if I have a tight month it is handy. Gpot amazon card at the mo and min payment on £1300 is £28 so a bit of a dif.

I called to cancel my virgin card a couple of months ago and got offered another 9 month bt from my current account.
Didn't get offered the fee waiver though.

Also just cancelled capital one and the guy said if I wait a week I can apply for a new card with 15 month bt.

    Just to update on this:

I was going to transfer another balance from HSBC to the Co-op Bank's card, but they declined my application.

So I phoned up Virgin and asked them to honour this offer, including the fee waiver and, after a little bit of hassle finding the right person who made the offer they said "Ok, we'll do it".

Let's hear it for Virgin! :)

you will have to ask for the waive of fee but they will only do it if you are transferring to from another card not if you are putting cash into a bank account.

0800 783 1116 is a good number to call to get better rates than anywhere else in the bank ;)

And ask about the fee to be waived too ;)

And finally be nice to them ;)

I finished my second 0% transfer with Virgin - they said they couldn't offer another one at that time but I could keepo the card open in case other offers came though.
Was tempting as it had over 20k limit but I decided to cancel anyway.

Probably going to try MBNA shortly.
Anyone know the credit limits they offer?
    Do they do 20k+

Initial limits are up to £25000 but I know of people that have £50000.
