Help pls re:name change for paypal account

Hi all need some advice/help here!!

I called paypal the otherday and emailed them saying I wanted to change my email account into my married name (mainly because I have changed cards/bank account into married name in Dec).
Thought this would be an easy process, i knew my 'secret' password with them etc....obvioulsly I was wrong!
Just received an email asking for me to send a copy of my 'court' document showing name change, and also a copy of some photo ID like my driving licence/passport. One problem here, the changing of passport etc is on my 'things to do' list sill


So......can i opened a new paypal account using same address as old one but new cards/account/name details??

Also....how do I close my existing paypal account, I've tried to search their website and can't find it anywhere and when i tye it in search bit it comes up as 'error'!!

Can someone have 2 paypal accounts running at same time??

Hi,

Going by experience, you can't have two accounts on the same e-mail address, but you can add on another e-mail onto your paypal account. I had trouble changing mine over, so I opened up a new account using different bank details, then closed down my old account. You should then be able to add on your other account details.

If all else fails, just close the account down, then start again!

To close your account, log on, click on my account, profile, you should see close account at the bottom of the left hand column.

Thanks for you reply...just one more question!! lol

My bank account number etc is still the same just my surname has changed...will i be able to open a new paypal account (after closing old one) with same bank acount number?

You should be able to do this, as I have since added the details I used on my old paypal account onto my new one after I closed my old one.
