sorry for nasty subject. I have a few tops which after they have been washed smell clean and fresh, then once they have been worn for a short time and got slightly damp from perspiration they smell very bad of BO. the smell comes from the cloth, not me!! it is as if either antiperpirant or bacteria are dep insode the material and are activaed once damp. mainly a problem for cotton and lycra materials.
any tips for removing this?

Soak the tops in a white vinegar solution for a couple of hours and then wash as normal."This site is addictive!"

That happened to me the other week, I thought it was because I was using soap nuts and they wern't good enough.
Does this now mean I can use the soap nuts after all, and save some dosh ?
Sorry for butting in, and not answering the question0 -
Thanks, will try this myself as well, could this step be cut out by using the vinegar as a conditioner?0

Oooooh goodie, I've been meaning to ask this question on here myself! Might rescue a couple of otherwise perfectly serviceable black brushed cotton cardies and white cotton/lycra T-shirts which I thought I was going to have to chuck.
