                    Hello all
I just wanted some advice before I reluctantly pay this £100 fine to Newham council
In Feb this year I parked my car on a side street in a parking bay for 10 minutes on a Sunday night at 7pm. A few weeks later I get a PCN from Newham council (caught on camera!) for the fact that part of my wheels were on the double yellow lines outside the bay.
I contested this with them about the circumstances, I was unaware of this fact, the majority of my car was in the bay and I wasn't causing an obstruction. They rejected my appeal.
This is when I appealed via the Parking and Traffic Appeals Service. Newham council sent them some dodgy 'evidence', I quickly poked holes in, neverthless the adjudicator refused my appeal stating that a contravention can occur even if one wheel is on a double yellow line at any time and I am liable to pay £100 to Newham.
Am actually a bit upset about this as it appears to be uncommon to get appeals rejected via PTAS.
It also appears that PTAS have logged an incorrect vehicle registration number on the letter they have sent me. Is this a loophole, or do I just bite the bullet, accept defeat and pay?

Did you get help on any forum before it got to this stage?
If not then it's possible you may have missed an opportunity as I think I've seen on pepipoo.com forums, several Newham-issued PCNs which were unenforceable due to wrong wording...
Not sure if there's anyong else you can do but someone will hopefully post and say for sure. Does the letter say you have any option to appeal the PATAS decision? Could you post up an image of it here using tinypic (as per the 'how to post images' sticky, and as a newbie you'd need to leave out the 'http://' as you can't post full links).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I believe a PATAS or TPT decision can be appealed within 14 days of notification. This appeal is internal and is on limited grounds. After that Judicial Review is the next step, a somewhat expensive step.0
