argos home delivery didn't turn up - what now?

Have phoned customer services but he couldn't tell me where it has got to, or when it will be delivered. He was no help at all, apart from giving me the address to complain to! I don't want to complain yet, I want my goods. I've already had to take the afternoon off work to be home. What should I do now? I can't take any more time off just in case they turn up - yet customer services can't tell me when.
