Hi, Im new to Moneysavingexpert, so hello to you all!
I have some debt on a lloyds tsb platinium mastercard and the balance transfer is up the end of the month. So i applied for an asda credit card online via their website and got accepted and given a credit limit, i thought great hard bit over. My card came about a week later and i rang up and activated it. Then straight after i rang the 0800 number for the balance transfer. 1st attempt i was too late they were closed. Next day the helpfull automated system kept saying sorry we cant find you please call customer services. Even though i had activated my asda credit card. So i rang the following day after getting home from work and rang customer services who were quite rude to be fair, it is under written by santander credit services... it was an india call centre so ill proceed on... they said ok so you want to transfer a balance, i was like yes please. He asked for my credit card number and he said sorry the system wont accept this is it a debit card? i replyed no its a mastercard. so he said sorry i cant help and just hung up. I thought great! what a first class ****** so i then noticed the card had expired. So got lloyds to send out a new card, upon recieving it 3 days later i rang to activate my lloyds credit card and the customer care rep took forever! like 25mins to activate a card asking me all mannor of questions and trying to sell me services i dont need. Eventually she gave up. So now i thought ok i have a new credit card from lloyds its valid lets try asda again. Same again rang balance transfer and got told we cant find your details called customer services who didnt seemed bothered the system cant find my records... then asked for the card number and the ammount. Once again im bluntly told the system isnt accepting your card number. do you have another card? im like errr no what wrong with this lloyds tsb platinium mastercard and the she muttered some cards we just dont accept? Im like thinking !!!!!!?
So can anyone help me? my limit is £2250 for asda and im trying to transfer £1900 from lloyds tsb, even with the 3% handeling fee that wont exceed my limit on asda. my lloyds balance is £1959 so is it im transferring to much to asda? i cant seem to find a link to say asda aka santander are linked with lloyds tsb anywhere. So unsure why im not getting any help. My only hope is tomorrow if i try in the day ill get through to an english call centre and see if i get a better response that way because around 7pm when i try on 2 occasions i get no where!
any help or advise or tips would be appreciated as the time is ticking for the old balance transfer to end and the new one to start as you get 30 days after the account is opened.
Regards Ryan

Santander are not linked with Lloyds tsb they are however useless.Might be worth trying for a MBNA card eg Virgin (16 months 0%)just in case.
Anything from Abbey/Satander is worth avoiding even their cash machines.
Good luck.I have a deep burning indifference0
