Thinkin of switching

Does anyone know of any goood supliers of gas and electricity? I am currently with British gas and have had the worse time ever with them...without agreeing they have put my gas direct debit upto £64 a month!!! I did tell them already the most I can afford is £40 which to me is still a lot of money....especially as I dont heat my house eveyday, and dont cook eveyday and am out of house all day and most of night! i really want to change but would love advice on who I should look at goin with or to steer clear of...am thinkin of EON but have been told they r not good with both gas and electric....have done a few comparisons but the sites are all different....have had OVO and EDF come up as the 2 cheapest for both but what are their services like???? any help would be gratefully received

Have you supplied up-to-date meter readings to British Gas? Have you checked you are on their cheapest tariff? Does the £64 a month accurately reflect your current usage, bearing in mind you will need to pay more over the winter months? Have you run your usage in KWH (not £££) through a price comparison website?

Hi elliemay29 - It's all a question of doing the homework, to get accurate quotes from any switch site you must know your Elec & Gas annual consumption figures in Kilowatts, but from your post it seems that you could be a 'Low User', in which case google 'Ebico' ,(who may not appear on all switch sites), and relate thier prices to your consumption
    Good Luck
