ive discussed it with friends, and everyone of them, growing up, only ever got a bike as a joint christmas/birthday present, due to the costs involved (or an older siblings bike, resprayed a different colour, so you thought it was a new one)- whereas now, bikes dont even feature on present lists, as most parents just buy one as needed throughout the year, and then for christmas you get the games console, the associated games, plus more accessories
It didn't change here. We got our son a bike for his last birthday, and two books and a small train, that was it....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Times change! and if your child doesnt have all the top of the range stuff they DO get picked on, its a cruel world but true, i have got my daughter about 8 things and its cost about 400 pounds!! it is ridiculous, im not rich, far from it but things are THAT expensive these days!
That would make me determined to spend less, not more - there's no way I'm splashing out to satisfy some little bullies....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Fortunately, my girls already show signs of not wishing to follow the trends (don't know where they get that from) although one showed a liking of Hello Kitty.

Right I added up. I spent £900 (including £60 on neices and nephews and £50 on dvds for me and OH) so £790.
But I did spend £200 on a new bed for wee man. So £1100, new bed for wee man and everyone bought for. Now I'm actually happy with that.Sealed Pot Saving No. 799 - Currently £105
