By the way I wasn't being judgemental earlier, about the amounts people spend. I get stressed about the deluge of stuff at christmas though, and I'd prefer a lot less. We live in a tiny 2-bed shoebox with barely room to hang up coats let alone play. There's no dining room, conservatory etc. so everything has to go into the small sitting room or on top of wardrobes. The more stuff there is the less they play with because it's all just a sea of 'stuff' cluttering up the sitting room. My mum and my MIL each give them so much stuff that they don't even need santa. I hate it, it overwhelms me.
So, for me, a small pile of stuff is plenty. If we had a dining room/playroom.more room in the bedroom etc. then perhaps I'd think differently.52% tight0 -
by the way if it's the wooden 'brio' type tunnel and train you've bought have you seen the dinosaur set reduced to £20 in the early learning centre? It was £60. instore only I think, might be worth putting aside for birthday if that's what he's into.
Fantastic, you're a sweetheart. I've just had a look, he adores Thomas and dinosaurs, so he'll love it (birthday, I think, OH will insist!)...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

That's really nice :T
I do the new pyjamas thing after reading about it on MSE a couple of years ago. I really like the new duvet cover idea too, but I'm too much of a skinflint, they had new duvet covers last year and they have 3 each, none need replacing ... no, I just can't do itI'll do it next year though.
Youngest has a new cuddly toy for christmas eve (the £2.99 dwarf grabbit from here a couple of months go). It's not a tradition, but I think he'd like it to be, although he's started school now though so he'll probably stop being such a sweet cuddly boy who goes gooey over kittens soon.

There is definitely hope. I have got friends who have had trouble getting hamsters, I'd love to help them out by selling them mine - as long as that set gets here!!
I wish we could track DHL by address0 -
So lovely to hear what other children have got to look forward to on Christmas morning. I have no problem with sharing what our kids are getting - I just wish people didn't think it was their god given right to express their opinion about it out loud. There's just no need and it's antagonistic.
Hey, we're all entitled to an opinion, and this is a money-saving site (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

The trouble with duvet covers is that they last forever. The single bed in our study here has a cover with a dog on it and is name-taped with my name and boarding school house, from when I was 11 - 20 years ago!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
